Privacy Policy

• Location — Your GPS location is used on your device to show your position on the map. It is sent to our servers only when you ask for the quickest route starting from your current location, to work out that route, and it is not stored.
• Account information — If you sign in, your email address is stored via Google Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Google, the name and profile photo on your Google account are stored with it.
• Saved marks — Marks you save or create are stored only on your device.
• Map preferences — If you sign in, your last map view and the layers you have turned on are saved to your account so they follow you between devices.
• Uploaded mark photos and details — Photos you upload for marks, plus related mark details and ratings, are stored in Google Firebase. Photos are compressed before upload, which removes their embedded GPS and camera details.
• Leaderboard data — Your nickname, points, and rank are processed and shown in the leaderboard.
• Reports and moderation data — If content is reported, we process report details and moderation actions.
• Organisations — If you create or join an organisation, its name and jobs, and each member's email address, nickname and role, are stored and visible to its members.
• Usage analytics — We record how the app is used: the screens, tools and layers you open, session length, device and browser type, approximate location (country or city, worked out from your IP address), errors and performance. Microsoft Clarity also records sessions (taps, scrolls and what is on screen), with passwords and other sensitive form fields masked. We do not attach your account to analytics data.

Uploaded mark photos and mark details are visible to other users of the app. Any user can view this content.

The leaderboard shows nickname, points, and rank. By uploading mark content and participating in the leaderboard, you understand this information is visible in-app to other users.

• Microsoft Clarity — Captures how you use and interact with the app through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay, so we can improve it. It uses first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies. Microsoft may also use this data as described in its privacy statement. privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
• Vercel — Hosts the app and this website, and provides cookie-free page-view analytics. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Other map and data providers — Regional councils, Google (Street View), weather services and other public data services supply map layers and data for the area you are viewing. Requests to them include that area and your device's IP address, but never your account details.

We do not sell your personal data. Content you upload for marks and leaderboard participation is visible to other users in-app by design. We otherwise use the service providers listed above to run the app and to understand how it is used. Microsoft may also use Clarity data for its own purposes, as described in its privacy statement.

Uploaded photos can be reported by users. Reports are reviewed by admins/moderators, and content may be reviewed and actioned to maintain app safety and integrity.

You can request account deletion at any time using the Delete Account button in the app. On deletion, account credentials and nickname are removed, while uploaded mark photos may remain as part of shared mark records in the app.
